Be Like Dad

I think that our Father God must smile from heaven when we make the right choices in life.
Isn’t it funny how sometimes you catch yourself out acting just like your mum or dad, even without thinking about it?
One of my earliest memories is from Switzerland, where I was born. One day, when my father came home from work, I was waiting for him at the door. I was tiny, but I was wearing my father’s big winter boots, his huge coat with the sleeves drooping over the ends of my arms, and his winter hat on my head, so big that it covered my eyes.
Why did I do it? To be like my dad.
Some people have the wrong idea about why followers of Jesus try to lead better lives. It’s not to get brownie points from upstairs.
Instead, it’s to be like dad.
I think that our Father God must smile from heaven when we make the right choices in life. Remember: Be like dad.
