“Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ for … your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you as well” ([tippy title=”Matthew 6:31-33″ class=”” showheader=”true” href=”” width=”450″ height=”150″]31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.[/tippy]).
As a Christian your priority is to put God first, for by doing so you will demonstrate that the One who provides for your needs is more important to you than his provisions.
You have a heavenly Father who knows your basic needs and who will not stand idly by when your cupboard and wardrobe are bare.
You do your part by seeking his kingdom and righteousness and he’ll do his part by giving you food for your stomach and clothes for your back. That’s his promise.
