O that my words were recorded, that they were written on a scroll, that they were inscribed with an iron tool on lead, or engraved in rock for ever (Job 19:23,24).

The earliest evidences of human civilization show that people could not be satisfied with living without leaving some record of their hopes and fears behind them for future generations to acknowledge. One life is never enough to contain human aspirations. We have such ideas, such schemes, such designs and intentions; our anticipations and longings signal to us such possibilities , our friendships and loves fill us with yearnings that only eternity could provide for. Rejoice, our names are in God’s scroll.
