Daily Good News – The End is Not the End

“The sisters, Martha and Mary, sent word to Jesus in Transjordan, ‘Lord, the one you love is sick.’ When he heard this, Jesus said, ‘This sickness will not end in death’” (John 11:3-4).
Well, that sickness did end in death, so what did Jesus mean? Jesus meant it would not END in death.
We humans take the short view. Lazarus died. That was the end. Jesus takes the long view. Lazarus died. That was NOT the end.
So it is with every follower of the Lord Jesus who dies. That is NOT the end. The gospel has changed the meaning of the end of life. The gift of eternal life means that death in this world is only transitory, and Jesus will raise you to eternal life.
