Fear is something that we all experience at times in our lives. This is only natural, as the world around us is a scary place. Bad things can and do happen. There are many things we can be afraid about. And Jesus knows how easy it is for us to become afraid, but he also tells us that we don’t need to be.
In the Bible, we are told many times not to fear. One such verse is Isaiah 41:10, which says,
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
This verse beautifully communicates why we don’t have to be afraid. Jesus is with us. He is our God. No matter what happens, no matter what awaits us in the future, he is with us. He will strengthen us and help us to make it through. He will uphold us so we won’t be overcome.
We don’t need to be afraid. We can put everything in Jesus’ hands and just trust him. He is stronger than anything that is worrying us or can harm us. He defeated death itself when he died on the cross. Now, no matter what happens in this life, through faith we can accept salvation and receive eternal life.
We can put our faith in Jesus and not be afraid. In him, we can be fearless.
