When we’re travelling, my colleague usually offers me a choice of rooms in the hotel. When one room is far better than the other, I try to make “Abrahams Choice,” and leave the nicer room for my friend.
“Abraham’s Choice” refers to the time Abraham was offered the best land for himself and his sheep, but instead gave the land to his nephew Lot, and took the lesser land for himself.
Jesus made a similar kind of “Abraham’s Choice” when he chose to give up his place with God and come to earth to save us. He chose to be one of us, to die to heal our broken lives instead of remaining in Heaven.
Are you facing an “Abraham’s Choice” moment in your life right now? Honour Jesus in your decision by putting other’s needs before your own, and let His words be your guide – “Do to others as you would have them do to you”.
Let Jesus’ words be your guide.
