Daily Good News – 11 January

“Praise be to the Lord God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people” (Luke 1:68).

This peon of praise was uttered by the priest Zechariah before Jesus was even born. Zechariah, who had witnessed the very first steps of God’s plan to redeem Israel, looked forward in faith to the journey’s end when Jesus would be triumphantly resurrected from the dead after dying on the cross for the sins of his people.
