Romans 5:8

At the heart of Christianity is the death and resurrection of Jesus.
When did Jesus die for us?
It wasn’t when we were his friends.
It wasn’t when we were living a perfect life.
It wasn’t when we had cleaned up the mess in our lives.
It was “while we were still sinners”.
More than that, if you were to read the paragraph around this verse, you would see that Jesus died for us when we were…

Verse 10 — God’s enemies
That’s the incredible thing about the love of God shown in Christ.
When we were at our worst, God gave us his best!
When we were so far from God, dead in our rebellion and sin, he came near in his Son to rescue us.
You might feel unloved and unwanted. But know this for certain: you are loved by God.
God doesn’t just say he loves you; he demonstrates his love by sending his Son to live the perfect life you failed to live, to die the sacrificial death in your place and for your sin, and to be raised from the dead, guaranteeing life beyond the grave for all who trust in him.
