The Drink Bottle
When my dad was a young kid in Spain, there was a farmer who’d run over his grandmother, leaving her crippled for life.
So my dad waited till this man was ploughing a field, and then crept up to where the man had left his nice, cool water bottle. To defend the honour of the family, he… um… wee’d in the bottle, sealed it up and then hid nearby to see what happened.
By the way, don’t try this at home!
Eventually the man came, all hot and thirsty, to get a drink. He gagged and spit it out, and started looking around, screaming, “I’m going to kill you!”
My dad lived in a culture where honour had to be defended at all costs, even if you were only a young kid.
The Bible says, “Never pay back evil with more evil… but conquer evil by doing good.”
Remember: Revenge might feel good, but it never does any good.
Revenge may feel good, but it never does any good.
