Unlimited: Dying and Living with Christ

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him (Romans 6:8).
Paul has already emphasised the importance of being united with Christ in his death. It is through this spiritual death with Christ that we inevitably participate in Christ’s resurrection as well. If we die with him, we will live with him.
That’s why it’s so important to focus our teaching on the saving death of Jesus. It is the source of every blessing.
The formula that is understood by the world is that death is followed by nothing. But for the person who is united with Christ, the formula is that life follows death.
For the person who is united with Christ, the formula is that life follows death.
The idea of living with Christ contains two ideas. The first one is that we live with Christ in this life, and the second idea is that we will live in resurrection life with him for eternity. However, in the New Testament, these two ideas are really one single idea. There is no real distinction between life on this earth and eternity, because eternal life begins for you when you believe in Jesus, as he taught:
Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life (John 6:47);
Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life (John 5:24.)
Do you really believe that you have eternal life right now? How does that transform the way you view your life in this world?
