Unlimited: The Same Rule For All

There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile (Romans 2:9–10).
God is fair, and because of that, he has the same rule for all, regardless of whether you are a Jew or a Gentile, whether you are a Christian or a non-Christian, or whether you belong to a specific Christian church or a different church.
In the first century, glory, honor and peace were the core attainments that society prized. While we may still recognise these as wonderful things, our own contemporary culture probably values other things more highly, such as personal empowerment, self-expression, and freedom.
However, when seen in the light of Scripture, glory, honour and peace are among the greatest of all blessings. In this sense, glory refers to the exalted state in which you are seen by heaven because of Christ. Honour refers to your value because of the price that was paid for you. Peace refers to the security, contentment and inner strength of a person who has the assurance of salvation.
God is fair, and because of that, he has the same rule for all.
Jesus said that,
No one is good – except God alone (Mark 10:18.)
The goodness (righteousness) that we need in order to have these blessings are only ours through imputed goodness of Jesus.
Whatever the things may be that we value, the path to attaining them is always the path of good. It is always the path of seeking God.
Take a moment to think on how you try to achieve glory, honour, and peace in your life. Are you seeking these in a worldly sense, or in the light of the Cross?
