John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (ESV)
This is an incredible verse from John 1!
Just before that, we’ve heard that the Word is the eternal Word. The creative Word. God.
It even says the Word was God in the opening sentences.
And the stunning truth of these verses is that that Creator, that one who is before all things, that one by whom all things are made, he took on flesh.
Jesus is God, who took on flesh, who lived among us, who entered into his creation with the glory of his Father, and the one that brings grace and truth.
Grace — he brings a word of comfort.
Truth — he brings a word of confrontation.
And so let me urge you to see how incredible it is that God would come among us ultimately to be the Saviour of the world.
