Walk With Your Head High
It’s hard to walk with your head high when your life doesn’t match up to who you’re supposed to be.
King David wrote his third psalm when he was an old man, and he wasn’t in a good place. In fact, he was running for his life from his own son, Absalom. The ruin of his family had been brought on by his own sins of adultery and murder.
Still, he was able to write the following words,
…you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high (Psalm 3:3, NIV).
How is it that David can walk with his head high? He explains why in the very next verses. He says it is,
…because the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side (vv.4-6, NIV).
Remember, When you know that the Lord sustains you, you will always walk with your head held high.
