“He says to himself, ‘God has forgotten; he covers his face and never sees’” (Psalm 10:11).
Thousands of years ago the poet gave expression to the mindset of the twenty-first century man’s insolent defiance of God. A delinquent youth will impudently dare authorities to stop him breaking the law. Similarly, unbelief challenges God to step to and put an end to its unchecked evil. It is not at all clear to faith, why God should take so long to act, but it is interesting that unbelief should entertain the thought that God might, could, or ought to see and act.
