Surely He Cares for You

By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew (Proverbs 3:19-20).
Before we question the Lord’s ability to solve our problems, Solomon asks us to consider what the Lord has done in a much larger arena. God laid the foundations of the whole earth from pole to pole and east to west. These foundations include the vast mountain ranges; the steppes, desserts and verdant valleys.
It was God who “set the heavens in place”. The starry host that we see above us on a cloudless night consists mainly of just one galaxy of stars among 300 million galaxies. The countless multitude of suns, from our own sun in the centre of our solar system, to those in the most distant galaxy—3.5 million light years away—tell of his awesome creative power.
“…by his knowledge the seas were divided.” The earth’s tectonic plates moved apart at his command to divide the deeps into many oceans and seas. We have the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean and the Southern Ocean. We have many seas including he Mediterranean Sea, Adriatic Sea, Arabian Sea, Red Sea , Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee.
“And the clouds let drop the dew.” There are places on earth where the nightly deposit of dew is essential for the survival of people and animals.
If the Lord in his wisdom has provided for their needs, should we question his ability to care for our own?
