Unlimited: Just as Christ Accepted You

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you (Romans 15:7a.)

The most basic human need is to know that you are accepted, that you belong, that you are loved.

This is a glorious truth, that Christ has accepted you! As he has accepted you, you are to accept others. Jesus said,

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another (John 13:34.)

The epistle to the Romans is structured around our acceptance in Christ, and how, as a direct consequence, we are to accept others. In Romans 2:11, Paul told us that,

God does not show favouritism.

We are to accept one another, in the same way as Christ accepted us.

In Romans 5:8, Paul wrote,

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

As a result, we are not to judge one another or treat each other with contempt (Rom. 14:10.) Instead, we are to accept one another, in the same way as Christ accepted us.

A true knowledge of God will always make you very humble. When you act as if your own beliefs and viewpoints are absolute and unquestionable, you cannot appreciate the righteousness, holiness and majesty of God. When you fail to welcome and accept others, you fail to achieve the very purpose for which God offered you salvation.

Spiritual Application

How accepting are you, really, of others who have different Christian convictions or lifestyles? How have you demonstrated this recently? Select someone whom you might know in that category, and share a meal with them.

Hello, The Spiritual application presented today is one that many Christians fail to understand, accept and implement. Many feel that their way is the ONLY way. This is not what Jesus wants from us. Each of us has a mission in our lives and a Spiritual understanding that is given to us by The Spirit alone. Others may not have the same understanding or perspective. They may see or hear things differently. This is the purpose of the lesson of what foods to eat. Jesus frequently used food as a euphemism for Spiritual understanding. For The Word to be "Alive" we must grasp the understanding that The Creator speaks to each of us personally and specifically. We must allow for this communications in others as we expect it to be allowed for us. Ahoh Ketchakah

God loves for are so great that we can't understand, the fact of just giving your for the safety of human kind is unbelievable. Is loves that no men can't bear. I'm now asking God for strength to help me do is work on earth and let His will be done in my life also.

Thank you very much for today’s message. I have learnt to accept others with a big “BUT”. To explain the “But”, if for example my religion forbids the consumption of PORK MEAT and you are my neighbour who constantly consumes it, I don’t thing I should have to accept you in that particular direction. Or what’s your take in that Reverend? Please make me understand. Thank you.
