Unlimited: No One Condemns

Who then is the one who condemns? No one (Romans 8:34a).
Paul has just told us that there is no one who can bring any charge against those whom God has chosen, because we have been justified by God. There is no wrongdoing with which we can be charged. Even if a charge could be brought against us, the apostle now tells us that there is no one who could condemn us. Those who have been justified by Christ are always held to be completely innocent in the eyes of God.
Remember the episode of how Jesus dealt with the woman caught in adultery in John 8:1–12? The religious leaders brought this woman before Jesus. They presented their evidence, and they cited the law. She had to die. And then they asked Jesus,
Now what do you say? (v.5.)
Jesus wasn’t interested in their invitation to condemn the woman. In fact, he was so disinterested that he essentially completely ignored them. Eventually, after they had all left, he said to her,
“Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said.
“Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:10–12.)
In the words of John 3:17,
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
